Contrary to previous announcements, Cyprus will proceed to Eurovision 2024 with an artist selected internally, as in previous years, but the song will be chosen via a national final! After the complications that arose from the announcement of the artist’s selection through a well-known talent show, RIK is making a change of plans in order to prevent any negative decision from the EBU.
According to our information, RIK will organize a mini national final in January! After RIK will first select an artist internally, he or she will perform three (most likely) songs on a televised show with a live audience. From these, the one that will finally represent Cyprus in Eurovision 2024 will be chosen, in a way that will involve the audience! Details of the song selection process will be announced at a later date this fall.
