Switzerland, France and Netherlands rocked on stage – What happened at the second Dress Rehearsal of the Second Semi-Final

Dress Rehearsal

Tonight’s Dress Rehearsal for the Second Semi-Final ended and now the sixteen contestants are able to know exactly what they need to improve on in order to be ready for their performance tomorrow where they will be vying for one of the ten tickets to the Grand Final.

During tonight’s Dress Rehearsal, the committees from the countries participating in the second semi-final, as well as the three countries that vote in it and have already secured their qualification to it, that is, France, Spain and Italy. Their vote will be used as an alternative to the TV audience’s vote, should something go wrong on semi-final night.

A very interesting beginning with a purely Swedish flavor as the presenters of the competition Petra & Malin perform “Tatto” while inside Loreen’s prop.

What to anticipate

Sara from Malta opens the competition part of the competition and she really gets better and better every time while the performance has a lot of energy that excites the audience, it is possible that she will be able to qualify for the final.

Greece ‘s turn has arrived and Marina Satti with her dancers stir up the arena to the rhythms of zourna. A very dynamic and modern look full of surprises from the first second to the end. Marina is extremely comfortable on stage enjoying every moment of the performance. Very warm reception from the arena!

The second big favourites, Switzerland get the whole stadium going as everyone sings the chorus of the song while the applause was more than rapturous. What Switzerland presents is of high standards and combined with Nemo’s flawless performance on Saturday, he will rightly claim the coveted award.

Series for France which of course as a member of the BIG 5 is directly in the final. Slimane’s performance is unquestionably the best this year as listening to him moves you incredibly. The presentation is simple and impressive. While he got the biggest applause in the arena. This is another entry that will chase the prize…

A surprise that we did not expect was reserved for us by Musti from Belgium who, although for so long he had not convinced us with his vocal capabilities, today he was very strong. The presentation is very beautiful and perfectly suits both the song and him. Comfortable qualification to the final.

Penultimate on stage are Gåte from Norway with a riveting performance that receives a huge round of applause from the arena. The presentation takes us to their dark Scandinavian fairy tale with the singer’s performance giving us chills. Of course, he will be in the grand final with an unknown course there…

The competitive part of the second semi-final is closed by Joost from the Netherlands . His appearance really got the crowd going as he received the loudest and longest standing ovation. There was no better way to end the evening. Obviously, he will be in the grand final where he will achieve a very high position.

Below our expectations

The first half is closed by Armenia , which may have an uptempo ethnic song that excites you when you listen to it, but the stage presence degrades the vibe of the song, resulting in the whole appearance being sluggish and boring. Maybe it’s shocking NQ?

Immediately after, Latvia appears, which unfortunately does not have any gel. Although Dons voice is excellent, the tempo of the song and not so good presentation leaves the audience indifferent.

Estonia is one of the countries that did not impress. Despite the fun and crazy vibe of the song unfortunately the appearance is not worthy of what we would expect for such a song. It is a very weak presence that may not qualify the Baltic country

A new innovation has been prepared by the Swedish organizers – as every time they organize the competition – since we will listen to a singalong, the biggest in the world . Of course, the surprises don’t stop here… three winners of the competition are joining us to “accompany” us in the song. Elena Paparizou once again sets on fire up the whole of Europe to the rhythm of “My Number One”. Next is the beloved Charlotte Perelli and of course the one and only Sertab Erener ! It is a very dynamic and fun interval act that will be very interesting.

He may make Loreen’s work difficult last year in the audience rating, but the Swedish organizers invited him and once again we will enjoy the Kaarija.

Which entries are you looking forward to seeing in tomorrow’s second semi-final?
