The winners of Una Voce per San Marino, Piqued Jacks, recently released the revamped version of the song that will represent San Marino at Eurovision 2023, Like an animal! The new version of the song is out on all online platforms, and they themselves seem to be thrilled with the result. You can listen to the revamp of Like an animal below!
Who are Piqued Jacks?
Piqued Jacks is an Italian rock band from Tuscany, formed in 2006 in the town of Buggiano. Its members are Andrea “E-King” Lazzeretti (vocals, piano, synthesizer), Marco “Majic-o” Sgaramella (guitar), Francesco “littleladle” Bini (bass) and Tommaso “HolyHargot” Oliveri (drums). Their style is a fusion of indie-rock, alt-rock and funk-rock. They have released 4 albums, 3 EPs and over 10 singles. The band has been an opening act for Interpol, and are also the winners of MTV’s “The Freshmen” and Sanremo Rock in 2019. Piqued Jacks have previously been voted “most original band of the year” at FIM. Many of the records that have been released have received very good reviews, both from the Italian and foreign press. Since 2011 they have been working with producers and musicians based in Los Angeles, one of them being the producer of Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Soundgarden, and they have done many tours in America. The band, describing the sound they create, consider that it helps them “to be able to speak without obstacles, to make love in the most intense way possible, to express themselves 100%”.
San Marino, after yesterday’s semi-final allocation draw, will perform in the 12th place of the second semi-final.
