Marina Satti: “We chose “Zari” unanimously. It makes sense that not everyone is going to like it”

Marina Satti was on the ERT Studio 4 show and talked about Zari and a lot of other stuff to Thanasis Anagnostopoulos and Nancy Zambetoglou a few days before she left for Malmö and the 68th Eurovision contest!

When asked how she deals with the daily exposure she has recieved from the world and the media, Marina said:

I got into this atmosphere, step by step. It wasn’t common to be walking down the street and a camera appearing out of nowhere.

About people liking “Zari” or not:

It makes sense that not everyone would like a song. Obviously I know that we took some risks especially in Europe where the song might not sound familiar to a lot of people.

The ideal thingfor me is for my song to evoke emotions either positive or negative. I definitely want this project to express young people as well.

Above all, I wanted a Greek verse with a Greek element, not to do something other than what we might have had in mind. I didn’t want to lose the identity, the character!

Regarding the comments that had been made regarding the alteration of the image of Greece through the video clip, she stated:

In no way, did I want to show something bad about Greece, but in my opinion, what we showed is not far from reality. I never said what Greece is. The life I live is similar to the one in the video clip.

She stated about the preparations and the process that took place :

I’m very grounded with everything that’s going on, we have a lot of rehearsals, we want to get on stage and rock it, do our best.

We have seen all the proposals sent to us. We received about 200 proposals. Not all were complete songs because some were just verses, some single choruses.
On November 23, we received the email with “Zari’s” proposal

We wanted to know exactly what will happen on stage so that we can proceed with the rest which is the clothing, visuals etc. Everything is ready!
