A little while ago, the first dress rehearsal of the first semi-final of Eurovision 2024 was completed. On the stage of Malmö Arena, the countries of the first semi-final went on the stage in a live streaming program. This was the first rehearsal that accredited journalists had the opportunity to watch, whilst being inside the stadium.
On stage, the following countries performed:
- Cyprus
- Serbia
- Lithuania
- Ireland
- Ukraine
- Poland
- Croatia
- Iceland
- Slovenia
- Finland
- Moldova
- Azerbaijan
- Australia
- Portugal
- Luxembourg
At the same time, the United Kingdom, Sweden and Germany also had their first dress rehearsal, as part of this year’s EBU change, which included the performances of 3 of the 6 direct qualifiers to the final, in both semi finals.
After the rehearsal was completed, accredited journalists who had the opportunity to watch it live, voted for the three performances they believed had the best rehearsal of the afternoon. This poll is conducted under the auspices of ESCXTRA .
As expected Ireland, Ukraine and Croatia were the ones who made the biggest impression, based on the ESCXtra press poll. The placing of Portugal on the 4th place was very surprising. Serbia, Poland and Moldova were at the bottom of the scoreboard!
