Mia Nicolai and Dion Cooper who are The Netherlands’ duet, with ‘Burning Daylight’ are now in line for their first rehearsal. This is also the last technical rehearsal for today before the lunch break.
The change of pace is evident, with the Dutch duo singing their ballad, which expresses moments that have hurt them deeply in the past. The song is co-written by 2019 winner Duncan Laurence, which is shown throughout the song and makes it very distinctive.
The stage presence of the song makes it dreamy and uplifting at the same time. Mia and Dion are on a small revolving stage. The resulting effect is very beautiful, as the two move around each other, with the arena floodlights in the background. The camera work makes the whole look feel quite personal. However, those watching the performance live at the arena next Tuesday should definitely watch the video, as it presents a completely different verson of the performance.
Vocally they are quite good and their harmonies are really quite special. The Netherlands’ duo wears suits in black and white tones with plenty of glitter on top.
