Albania was once again this year one of the first countries to choose their representatives for Liverpool! Albina Kelmendi and her 5-member family will fly to Liverpool with “Duje”, which talks about a story of a family’s journey through crisis and how they were all together. After her victory at Festivali i Këngës, Albina stated that the song would undergo a revamp but it would remain in the Albanian Language!
Albania in Liverpool will be directed by Sacha Jean-Baptiste. This is the second time that a well-known choreographer will edit the Albanian participation after 2021 and the song “Karma” by Anxhela Peristeri.
As part of the promotion of Albanian participation, Albina together with Familja Kelmendi will attend the Eurovision pre-parties in Tel Aviv, Barcelona, Madrid, Amsterdam, and Warsaw.
A few words about Albina Kelmendi
Albina Kelmendi was born in 1998 in Kosovo. She studied music and mainly clarinet and piano at a music school in her hometown of Pejë. She began performing with her family under the name “Family Band”. She became well-known in 2014 after she participated in “The Voice of Albania” where she reached the final. She released her first debut album in 2022, under the title “Nana loke”, while she has many singles to her credit.
Albania will compete in the second semi-final in the second half of the show on May 11th!
