In the press room of Malmo Arena, the ten finalists arrived shortly after 23:50 CET time and obviously in a good mood, they answered the journalists’ questions. OGAE Greece found there and presents you with the most characteristic statements:

GREECE

Good evening everyone, I have to admit that I’m more nervous about the interview and not so much about singing on stage. I have to find something clever to say!

Before going backstage I was nervous but we danced with the greek team and I got over it!

Balkan countries are no longer present in the Competition, such as Turkey and Bulgaria. We love Turkey very much. My teacher taught me music by playing me Eastern songs and as I’ve said before, the music of our region has common elements long before borders were discovered!

We share our language, our culture with Europe and they seem to like it!

Marina Satti

SWITZERLAND

I feel many emotions. It was so beautiful to know that I was singing and this whole world was listening!

I’m non binary and really along with Bambie Thug we are both in the Final. We are together, we share the common experience, we understand each other and I am grateful that there is queer representation this year. It’s important to my life so far, because everything I’ve achieved I’ve achieved as queer.

So the message is one: As queer people we can achieve anything!

Nemo

AUSTRIA

I am a professional dancer! However, singing is equally difficult!

You are on stage and you have to express yourself. I’m there, with myself and I feel like I made my dream come true. I did not imagine that I will be with you!

The Eurovision audience is what gives the pulse. We felt amazing on stage and I feel enormous gratitude!

Kaleen

ARMENIA

Good evening to all. The Eurovision journey was great, what I love most are the moments when I play music with my band and other artists participate!

The message of the song is freedom. Especially for girls. Everyone tells us you have to be like this, or you have to act like this. But it is better to think with our own mind and not with the mind of the rest of the world!

All we could think about until we announced were our mothers who might be crying but the feeling is perfect!

LADANIVA

LATVIA

Today is a special day for me. I have never been more proud to be Latvian.

We are the only country in the world that looks like a butterfly and that means freedom and hope and every country in the world has the right to be free!

Being on this stage is a very emotional moment for me and today I feel confident to be humble and keep working hard. The song teaches hope. There is a bright future for all of us out there!

Dons

GEORGIA

We waited seven years to get Georgia to the Final. Thank you for the trust you have shown me. I am very excited and proud.

I want to show everyone the fire of Georgia. I could feel that energy on stage and I thank those who worked for the result. Dreams can come true and this was my dream!

Nutsa Buzaladze

ESTONIA

We are Dortmund fans. We prefer Dortmund to win the Champions League Final, either way Dons will win Eurovision!

All the Baltic countries will be in the Final! But the motto is United By Music, we have united with everyone and everything here in Malmö.

5miinust & Puuluup

NORWAY

Every time I sing Ulveham it’s like giving birth, so now I feel tired!

The chorus is the cry of a shepherd. It is a primal attempt to communicate with animals.

When we make songs we mostly want to connect with them. It is a moment we experience without thinking and these moments are blessed.

What matters is the magic of music that words cannot always describe!

Gåte

NETHERLANDS

I think of all the orphans in the world but also the people who have no home or no money.

I like to think a lot and if you combine all these thoughts something will come out!

Thanks for the support.

Joost

ISRAEL

It is a great honor for me to be here and represent my country. Thank you to those who voted and brought us to the Final. I want to share my love with everyone.

I believe we are all here for a reason. The EBU has taken all measures to make the Competition safe and we wouldn’t be here if things were different.

I love to sing, I was born for it. God gave me a gift and I practice it to create emotions in souls. Eurovision is the beginning and I want people to get to know me.
