SAN MARINO: The country is reconsidering its Eurovision participation after being disqualified for the third time in a row

San Marino

The reactions in San Marino are escalating, after the disqualification of MEGARA from yesterday’s 2nd Semi-Final of Eurovision 2024.

According to the country’s Minister of Tourism, Federico Pedini Amati, it is not at all certain that San Marino will continue to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest.

It is up to us not to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest again. The game cannot always be addressed only to the largest countries in terms of size and population.

Federico Pedini Amati, Minister of Tourism of San Marino

The Minister of Tourism of San Marino, who was in Malmo, Sweden to support the effort of MEGARA, added that there is intense bitterness from the third consecutive disqualification, after Achille Lauro and Piqued Jacks.

In any case, it is not a decision I can make as a unit, there is state TV and soon maybe another government in the country.

We are committed to making an important television product like “Una Voce per San Marino” and we do not deserve to be treated this way all the time.
