The great celebration of Italian music, the famous Sanremo festival starts tonight for the 74th time with Prima Serata. Everything is ready at the Teatro Ariston for 30 artists of the Italian music scene to take the stage, who will vie for the first prize.
After five, in total, evenings with lots and lots of good Italian music, the 74th Sanremo Festival is expected to come to an end. Italy, as it has done in recent years, will use this Festival to select its representative in the 68th Eurovision Song Contest . Eurovision fans everywhere have turned their sights this week to the Italian North.
The artistic director, as well as the presenter of the five shows, will be Amadeus, who has reformed the Festival since he assumed his duties, while this year – according to his words – his collaboration with RAI is completed. However, in a recent interview, he left a glimmer of hope for the renewal of his collaboration with the Festival, with this being something that will be discussed after February 10, when this year’s edition will be completed.
On the side, on today’s first night, last year’s winner and representative of Italy in Eurovision 2024, Marco Mengoni , will be the co-presenter of Amadeus. Setting his own tone at the 2024 Sanremo Festival will be everyone’s favorite Amadeus alter ego Fiorello , who has already promised endless nights of endless Italian humor.

On today’s opening night, all of this year’s contestants will take to the stage of the Teatro Ariston to perform his songs live for the first time. Many well-known artists from the neighboring country are claiming this year’s prize at the Festival, with the lineup being one of the best in recent years.

The rating of Prima Serata
On the first night of the Festival, voting will include only accredited journalists, who will be divided into three categories:
- Press (33% of total vote)
- TV (34% of total vote)
- Internet (33% of total vote)
At the end of the evening, the ranking of only the first five artists will be presented.
The guests of Prima Serata
In tonight’s first night of the Sanremo Festival 2024, in addition to Marco Mengoni, who will act as co-presenter, the Italian rapper and composer Tedua will also be a guest. Tedua became known in the Italian hip-hop scene thanks to his unique aesthetic and dynamic live performances. He has released a number of hit records and mixtapes, which have helped Italian hip-hop music gain momentum.
