According to exclusive information that OGAE Greece has validated, Silia Kapsis is the one who will represent Cyprus at Eurovision 2024, which will be held in Malmö from May 9 to 13.

For the second year in a row, Cyprus will try its luck at the Eurovision Song Contest with a young performer from Australia.

We can say that shortly before the 15th of August, the decision was made for the artist who will finally represent the country. We expect the announcement of RIK – and of course the details on how the song that Silia will perform in Malmö will be (or was) chosen. Her song is expected to be a pop-dance banger!

HOW THE DECISION WAS MADE

This year’s process in Cyprus went through quite a few ups and downs. It was planned to be hosted a talent show to determine the representative for 2024. The talent show was officially announced , but after a long process it was ruled non-compliant by the EBU since the rights of another competing country and a non-EBU channel were involved. Thus, the RIK turned to internal selection and Silia Kapsis will represent Cyprus in the Eurovision 2024.

WHO IS SILIA KAPSIS?

If you haven’t heard of Silia Kapsis before, it’s because she is just 16 years old, born on December 5th, 2006! She was born in Australia, but her father is from Cyprus and her mother from Thessaloniki, Greece. Despite her age, she is an experienced dancer, singer and actress. She has appeared in the short film ‘Pearly Gates’ and the TV series ‘Welcome to our lockdown’, has made the switch from Jennifer Hudson’s TV show and has also become a news anchor on Nickelodeon Australia. Her first single was released in 2022 titled “Who am I” and you can enjoy it below:
