As every year, from 2013 onwards, the final order in which the 26 countries will appear is determined – exclusively – by the producers of the show.
This happens in order to improve the flow of the final, in example to avoid consecutive entries of the same musical style, etc.
This year, there was another major change. The 25 of tomorrow’s 26 contestants had to draw lots between the first and second half, but also between the Producer’s Choice!
This brand new third category gives the organizers the right to place the country that drew the particular lot in any position they like, either in the first or second half.
Major interest, always, is the best possible TV result. It was also decided that out of the 20 qualified countries of the semi-finals and the BIG 5 , 6 will take place in the first half, another 6 in the second and 13 places will be determined by the so-called Producer’s Choice .
What do you think of the running order of this year’s final?
