Details of the show

The show will start at 21:00 CEST and feature sixteen competing countries. In addition to the competing entries, France, Spain and Italy will perform their entries during the show, appearing on stage after the entries from Czechia, Latvia and Estonia, respectively.

This semi-final will be opened by a pre-recorded segment in which presenters Petra Mede and Malin Åkerman perform the 2023 winning song “Tattoo” with lyrical changes that describe how to reach Malmö from Stockholm.

The interval acts will include Helena Paparizou, Sertab Erener and Charlotte Perrelli performing their respective winning songs – “My Number One” (Greece 2005), “Everyway That I Can” (Turkey 2003) and “Take Me to Your Heaven” (Sweden 1999) – with the audience taking part in a sing-along, and “We Just Love Eurovision Too Much”, a musical number performed by Mede that satirises various aspects of the contest, with appearances by Perrelli, Sarah Dawn Finer reprising her role as Lynda Woodruff, and 2023 Finnish representative  Käärijä performing an excerpt of his competing song “Cha Cha Cha”.

1984 winners for Sweden, Herreys, will perform their winning song “Diggi-Loo Diggi-Ley” after the qualifiers are announced.

Voting system / Results

No changes since last year’s voting system will take place as EBU stated. So, in both semi-finals only the televote will decide which songs will receive points, though juries will be used as a back-up plan. In the final, juries and televote will award an independent set of points. In all three shows, online votes from viewers in non-participating countries will be awarded as one set of points named “Rest of the World”.

The sixteen competing countries plus France, Italy and Spain, as well as non-participating countries under an aggregated “Rest of the World” vote, will vote in this semi-final.

Ten countries will manage to qualify to the Grand Final. The announcement of those countries will take place just before the closing of the show. The full detailed results of both semi finals though will be published after the Grand Final of the contest.
