GREECE: These are the seven artists and the shortlisted songs for the Greek selection!

The first part of the renewed procedure followed this year by ERT for the selection of Greece’s representative in the 67th Eurovision Song Contest has just been completed.

As we had informed you, a committee consisted of 70 people, with age distribution, was drawn and invited today to ERT’s headquarters in order to listen in absolute secrecy to the seven candidate songs and then to evaluate them, thus forming the 50.6% of the final result.

The artists and songs heard by the Public Committee are the following:

  • Konstantina Iosifidou “We are Young”
  • Melissa Mantzouki “Liar”
  • Victor Vernicos “What they say”
  • Monica “I’ m proud”
  • Leon of Athens “Somewhere to go”
  • Claudia “Holy water”
  • Maria Maragou-Antonia Kauri “Shout out”

The voting took place in ERT’s Studio E, which had been specially set up for today. The 7 songs were scored, just like in Eurovision, and a notary validated the votes of the 70 members before they were placed in the ballot box.

As a reminder, the final selection of ERT will be shaped by today’s vote, which will determine the most popular songs, and the 7-member ERT Committee’s vote, with a weighting factor of 50.6% for the Public Committee’s vote, compared to 49.4% for the ERT Committee’s vote.

The 70 members of the Public Committee were selected according to criteria previously announced for the age representation of the public following a draw of lots among the 2,982 entries received by ERT on its platform.

So, we now know the 7 (+1) artists and the song titles from which our Eurovision entry will be selected this year. Respecting all the artists and creators who have entered this process, as the official Greek Eurovision Fan Club that follows the selection procedure from within, we will wait for the best song to selected. therefore, we will not ask our members and followers for their opinion on who they want to represent us based on the name alone. Let the songs be judged and their potential as a set-up on the demanding Eurovision stage be assessed – we firmly believe that the two committees will choose the best. Make a good choice Greece!
