EUROVISION 2023: Victor Vernicos will represent Greece!

The decision for the Greek participation in Eurovision 2023 has been made! The 16 year old Victor Vernicos will represent our country in the Contest that will take place in Liverpool next May!

More specifically, a while ago, it was officially announced by ERT, in the news bulletin on TV that Victor Vernicos with the song “What they say” was selected among the 3 finalists, after the decision of the special 7-member committee.

Who is Victor Vernicos?

As we had informed you with exclusive information from ogaegreece.com, 16-year-old Victor Vernicos is the “youngest” proposal that Panik Records has submitted for Eurovision, and the youngest amongst the 7 candidates! Victor is a particularly gifted, innate talent who has been involved in music since the very young age of 4 years old. At the age of 8, he took vocal lessons and at the age of 10, he took guitar lessons. When he was 13 years old, he attended music technology seminars. He has a special ability, as he writes his own songs. In 2021, he released his first song titled “Fake Club”, in which he wrote music, lyrics and also produced the song himself. He is currently taking vocal lessons with vocal coach Chryssanthemis, and performance lessons with the one and only Nina Lotsari.

Victor’s proposal for Eurovision 2023 is a very personal and emotional ballad that he has written himself. The lyrics are in English, and the main theme of the song is about stess and anxiety.

Which are the next steps?

In February, the official video clip of the Greek entry for Eurovision 2023 is expected to be shot, and immediately afterwards, our song will be released. At the same time, the preparations for the stage presence in Liverpool will start. The complete file of the Greek participation, that will contain the main structure of the song’s presentation, should be submitted to EBU by March 12th.

Good luck to Victor and to the whole Greek delegation! Good luck Greece!
